My Digital Life at Home

The newest addition to my Digital Life has to be the iTouch. One of the newest Apple products let’s me listen to music, while checking some websites online. The only thing it can’t do is make a call…that’s what the iPhone is for.

I use a variety of different video cameras at my job. While working for the football team, I film all practices and games for further review by the coaching staff.

Sprint Cell Phone

I use my cell phone on a daily basis to keep in touch with friends, family and my coworkers at my job. If I did not have my phone I would never be able to reach anybody immediately

Dell 1505 Laptop

I bought my Dell 1505 Laptop in the summer of 2006. I use it on a daily basis to check email, talk to friends on AIM, and type papers for class. It is an essential part of my life at college.

My Digital Life in Class

Throughout the semester we have used a variety of open source software. During class, our first assignment was to take 25 photos in “our community.” I used a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W80 digital camera to capture the images. When done I used the open source webpage, Flickr, to upload the photos to the internet. Flickr is an image hosting website, that enables me to post photos for anyone else on the world wide web to view. My final images can be viewed at this link.

The second assignment we completed in class was another photo project. However, this time we imported our photos into Adobe Photoshop CS3. Aftering altering the images, we created a story using 25 HD photos and 25 DV photos. When complete, we upoaded them to Flickr once again. My final images for assignment 2 can be found at this link.

Starting with assignment 3 we began using audio editing software. The program we used in class was called Avid Xpress. We took a thirty minute audio file, and cut it down to 1 minute and thirty seconds. Upon completing that task we exported the file and uploaded it to G-Cast. Finally we linked the file to our blogger site where the final presentation can be found at this link.

For assignment 4 we continued with Avid Xpress Editing Software. Although this time we created a video package, incorporating video, audio and b-roll. We began with 10 video clips and imported them all into the program. We then spliced them together into a 2 and a half minute package. The final project can be found at this link.
